Rich offers personalized online drum lessons designed to meet the needs of each individual student. Instruction focuses on developing strong fundamentals while building musicianship, technique, reading skills, coordination, groove, creativity, and performance confidence.

Rich Dunham is a professional drummer and music educator with more than 30 years of experience as a performer and educator. He has worked with students of all ages and ability levels, helping aspiring drummers develop the technical skills, musicianship, and confidence needed to achieve their individual goals.

Educational Background

Associate Degree in Music – Onondaga Community College

Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Percussion Performance – Nazareth University

Master of Science in Education – SUNY Brockport

Master of Science in Education Administration – St. John Fisher University

Professional Experience

Throughout his career, Rich has served as a public school music educator, private drum instructor and high school administrator as well as performing as a drummer and recording artist.

About the lesson

The first question I always ask a student and the parents of younger students is:

"What is your current interst and goal as a drummer or percussionist?".

This is a great base line for me to keep in mind and enables me to help the student stay motivated, enjoy their lesson time, and get the most out of the experience.
