About Bijoy

Students enjoy learning from me, and I love music, especially rock!

I make learning an instrument fun, while making sure the student has a learning roadmap.

I teach guitar and drums to beginning and intermediate students. My only requirement is that you have your own instrument for the lesson.

A neighbor asked me to teach her sons to play the guitar, and I agreed.

Over 20 years of instruction, study, and performance (both amateur and professional) on multiple instruments.

About the lesson

I start by getting to know the student's musical ambitions and dreams, as well as their personal musical preferences, including artists and genres.

I factor in previous musical experience before working with the student to come up with a roadmap for their learning journey.

Kids, adults

Some with zero musical experience, and some with previous knowledge (choir/band in school, private piano/guitar lessons)

There are dozens of folks who are technically capable on their instrument right in your area, who have the knowledge to teach you how to play.

Instead of comparing qualifications, pick a teacher who matches your enthusiasm for music, and that you connect with on a personal level -- that will make you want to practice, and as a result, improve!

During the COVID shutdown, there weren't a lot of musical events. However, I have been very fond of the (masked and socially-distanced) studio recording sessions with colleagues that I was fortunate enough to be a part of.
