About Chase

My approach to teaching mixing is like my approach to learning - strength in the basics, and there's always room to grow. Whatever DAW you use, you should be able to get a great mix using stock plug-ins and whatever hardware you have. Plug-in bundles are great, and outboard gear is cool, but it'll only supplement your work if you already have the skills.

I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 and have been mixing professionally since then.

I love sound. All kinds of sound. I love sonic textures, and I love feeling the groove of a song. The groove is what glues together the sonic elements together. I also love helping others to be better in every aspect of life.

I have a BA in Electronic Production & Design from Berklee College of Music

About the lesson

First we have to start with where you are - I'd like to know your experience and what you hope to accomplish. From there, we can identify what basic skills to double-down on, and the best approach for advanced skills.

Look for someone who is mindful of the "rules" of mixing, but readily disregards them. Your ears have the final say about what sounds good. Analyzers, rules, and technical stuff is great! It helps you get where you want to go! But like a good cup of coffee, it's so dependent on your taste that no formula can make a mix "perfect".
