About Megan
Hi there! I am a licensed teacher for grades pk-12. I love helping students learn to express their voice through writing. I also have experience in helping students to write and edit essays that demand a more formal style. I can't wait to work with you towards your writing goals!

I love helping my students find their voice through writing. Helping them to mold the words to their will and grow as writers is so exciting to see. Watching my students succeed is the most fulfilling part of my job!
I got started in my teaching career by working in early childhood education as an assistant teacher. Watching the students thrive and learn inspired me to pursue my degree in education. In college I studied 3 years of English literature and creative writing before deciding on shifting my focus to elementary education.
Immediately upon graduating and getting licensed in k-8 general education I began my teaching journey in earnest. I got a job teaching special education prekindergarten and simultaneously began an endorsement program that licensed me for pk-12 special education.
I have maintained my passion for writing throughout my teaching journey and have lead writing workshops for students at many different grade levels. My background in special education allows me to be flexible in my thinking and enables me to differentiate my teaching to fit the needs of my students.

I like to know what the student is most interested in improving with regards to their writing. I will ask about goals and what writing projects the student is working on currently. I will then ask the student to share their work with me via google docs so that we can collaborate on the piece together.
