About Miranda
My name is Miranda Tellis, and I am a California certified elementary teacher. I adore teaching and building relationships with my students. I taught high school Spanish 1 and 2 for multiple years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since moving to California, I have taught kindergarten and 2nd grade at both public and private schools. I am looking forward to helping your student achieve their academic goals!
I have a K-8 California teaching credential with extensive experience in lower elementary education.

Upon meeting a new student, I first like to establish a trusting relationship by getting to know them on a personal level. Knowing what a student likes and dislikes is important for learning what motivates them!
I also like to give some type of assessment to see exactly what the student needs as far as support. I like to hone in on a student's strengths and weaknesses. Encouragement goes a long way!
I have worked with a wide range of students with various backgrounds. My first teaching experience was in a low-income community in Southwest Philadelphia. 100% of my students were students of color at a credit-recovery alternative high school.
Upon moving to California, I taught in a low-income community in San Jose. Here I taught TK and kindergarten of mostly Hispanic decent. The majority of my students were English language learners. I currently teach 2nd grade at a private school in San Jose work a diverse student population.
In all of my teaching experiences, I have worked with students with various abilities. I have worked with students on the spectrum, students with trauma experience, and students with learning disabilities. I have a variety of methods to assist students of many needs!
