About Buck

I take a logic focused approach to story crafting. Students finish my sessions with toold they can use to build expansive worlds going forward. I believe if the student needs to keep coming back to their instructor for help, they haven't been taught well enough to open their mind to the possibilities of their writing.

I love creating people and places that readers want to go to. I also enjoy crafting concise prose that gets to the point while being entertaining to read. My work in media reviews and op-eds has given me the ability to augment my voice to suit a desired tone and I want to pass that skill onto students in their creative endeavors.

I have a degree in Film/Animation from the Academy of Art University. I specialize in screenwriting and writing short stories and novellas for clients. I also produce media reviews and op-ed content for online publications on the side.

About the lesson

I strongly believe that writers are at their best when they can form a free stream of conciousness upfront, and narrow that into a solid outline and set of character sheets. I start by asking questions that get the student to dig into what type of person their character is deep down, or what logical limits their premise will be reaching toward.

Find an instructor that can engage with your learning style. Creativity isn't about doing it RIGHT. It's about finding the best way to express your ideas in their truest form. Obviously, there are general rules to follow, but when the guidelines are the first thing you look at, you'll never get to the part that keeps you writing: the joy of expression.

Details

I charge $50 an hour for sessions. most sessions are 2 hours. Included in that cost is the reading of any relevant materials that have been produced ahead of time. This speeds up the process on the day when necessary.

As a sign of good faith, the first session is half off.
