About Valerie

With my classes, I customize the recipes for the individuals in a class according to what their favorite tastes are in vegetables, meats, herbs, spices etc. I also take into account food allergies and sensitivities.

Also, I think it's obvious in class that I love meeting new people and try to make the class especially enjoyable for everyone.

After I went to cooking school at le Cordon Bleu in Paris, I moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1980, and taught cooking classes at The Peppercorn in Carmel, at Monterey Peninsula College, and nutrition at Hartnell College. Teaching quickly expanded into catering and private cooking classes. All my life, I have loved cooking and teaching — being a cooking coach is the perfect vehicle for me to share two creative passions.

I received a certificate from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris for my formal training.

I also went twice to one day classes in Italy.

Another way that I learn other cuisines is from friends and neighbors in and from other countries. I lived in Southeast Asia for a year and learned from almost everyone I met.
