About Ivy
I teach 7th through 12th grade Chinese during the day. I have tutored for Chinese before, and I love it. My students don't learn from a textbook, but rather they learn from conversations with me using real world applications and examples. I like to use humor and student interest along with what is considered to be "what they should be learning" to make curriculum fun and interesting. I have a bachelors degree in Chinese, and I have completed a certification program for teaching world language.
I have a bachelors degree in Chinese, which covers the language, culture, literature, and everything in between. I also completed course requirements for world language teacher certification. I am currently a Chinese teacher at a K-12 public school.

I like to gauge what level they're at by having conversations with them and discussing what their teacher typically does in a normal class period. From there, I can figure out how they're used to learning and find ways to incorporate new techniques to improve their fluency. I also like to get to know them a little so I can find out what they're interested in and how they plan to use Chinese in the future.
