About Arciene
I have been learning Mandarin since kindergarten, I attended Smith Academy/E.E. Waddell Language Academy from kindergarten to eighth grade. After that I continued my language learning at South Mecklenburg High School, which I am currently attending and will graduate from in 2021. After high school, I plan on continuing my Mandarin studies in university, as I both enjoy the language and plan on using it in my career aspirations. It is this love for Chinese, that I decided to start tutoring it, especially for elementary students. As, those were essential years in my language development. I have taken the HSK 3 and plan on taking another one in 2021, I have also taken AP Chinese and plan on taking the SAT Subject for Chinese with Listening this fall. I am at the top of my Chinese class often giving tours to Chinese teachers that visit the school in Chinese. I hope that I can assist your child(ren) in learning or building upon their Mandarin language skills. Thank you!!
I enjoy sharing the Chinese language with other people, and helping students learning or build upon one of the world's most difficult languages to learn, as a non-native speaker.
I work as a assistant at Kumon Math & Reading Learning Center, in which my duties include grading students work, explaining any errors to them, and assisting them in any other facite of learning that relates to Reading & English. I also have been doing Chinese Tutoring since the beginning of July 2021. In which I have been doing tutoring over Zoom with rising kindergarteners and rising first graders at E.E. Waddell Language Academy.

When working with a new student I try to firstly get to know them and secondly get to know their language level. As, I believe it's essential to know there interests, as I can gear what and how I teach them based off of that information.
I have worked with rising kindergarteners and rising first graders at E.E. Waddell Language Academy. I have also worked with students up to high school At Kumons with Reading & English.

I liked how interactive the sessions were from games to trips. Arciéne had one of the sessions at Lazy5Ranch, because the kids wanted to learn about animals in Chinese. They loved it!
