About Justin

I struggled with Chemistry at first so I know first-hand what it is like to have difficulty learning the subject. After much practice, studying, and struggle I was able to become very successful in the subject and found a real passion for learning and teaching chemsitry. I now have a BS in Biochemsitry and an MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a focus on Organic Synthesis. I continue to practice chemistry in my job in the pharmaceutical industry each day all because of great foundation I made for myself. It is my goal now to pass on that knowledge, foundation, and tricks I have learned to others who wish to become successful in chemistry.

Chemistry is a science that encompasses everything we do each day and I am able to take the knowledge I have about chemistry and apply it to my life. I love teaching chemistry as well as I like to see when students go from struggling in a concept to finally grasping and mastering it.

I have worked as a TA in General Chemsitry and Organic Chemistry for two years in University while I was completing my MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences so I have a lot of experience breaking down chemsitry topics to students.

I have a BS in Biochemistry with a minor in Biological Sciences, a MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and have done 5+ years of academic Organic Chemistry research in which I have published papers on the organic synthesis work I have completed. I have been working the pharamceutical industry for a year now and apply what I know about chemistry and experimentation each and every day.

About the lesson

I first like to find out what topics they are comfortable with and which ones they are really struggling in. Chemistry is such a broad topic that its important to have good foundational knowledge but then to also focus on the specific problem areas.

I have worked with highschool through college level students with a huge variety of age from 16-42.

Look for someone who is truly passionate about the subject and willing to break down any topic the student is having trouble with. It is also important to have a friendly connection between student and tutor so that we can both be up front with each other about progress in the subject.

Details

It depends on the age of the student and what level of chemistry they need help in so that is up for discussion. I would like to go off of an hourly rate of around $50.
