About Dienta
My name is Dienta, and I am an Immunology & Infectious Diseases major with minors in Economics and Global Health at Pennsylvania State University (CGPA:3.89, Science GPA: 3.81). I am a rising senior, and enrolled in the Schreyer Honors College, with my thesis focusing on the anthropology of human behaviors and its effect on public health decision making. I am planning to get a Masters in Public Health (MPH) and eventually doing an MD/Ph.D. focused on Anthropology. I have extensive experience in tutoring and teaching General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, with 2 years of being a Learning Assistant and 1 year of being a tutor through the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) and the Morgan Academic Center (MAC). I also have plans to establish an undergraduate class at Penn State through Students Teaching Students (STS), but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been pushed to Spring 2021. I love teaching and would love nothing more than my students to succeed!
I am someone who believes in everyone's potential. With my experiences over the past two years and some experiences in high school, I have discovered that the key to a successful learning experience lies in understanding your strengths and weaknesses and applying them to your subjects. If you choose an individualized experience, I will use the methods I learned to implement active learning strategies for you to succeed, with personalized learning plans and goals. I am confident that you will not regret choosing my services as part of your academic journey to improve your chances of success.
I have been teaching since high school and a huge part of my undergraduate career. I intend to pursue graduate education in the future and eventually teaching as a full-time career!
My specialty is Chemistry (General, Organic, and Biochemistry). I am also comfortable tutoring Immunology subjects as well. If there is a high demand for other subjects, I will try my best to provide those services. I cater specifically for Penn State students but I am also willing to branch out to other colleges or even high school AP subjects. As of now, the Penn State courses available for tutoring are CHEM110, CHEM112, CHEM210, CHEM212, CHEM130, CHEM202, BMB401, BMB402, VBSC211, VBSC410, and VBSC418. I have been working as a tutor for two years now, so I have sufficient experience.

My typical process in beginning a new student relationship is to start with a 30-minute conversation. I offer this complimentary session to each and every one of my prospective students in order to ensure that I am a good fit. This initial strategy session will help me get clear on what it is exactly that they'd like help in and how we're going to get there. If either one of us finds I am not the right expert for you, I will do my utmost to find a trusted colleague who may be. If we decide to move forward together, I will begin by sending some "pre-work" activities to get the ball rolling. Ultimately all decisions on pace and depth of the tutoring process is up to the client - as is the nature of teaching. You will make the choices and I will walk with you from day one as guide and supporter.
I have worked with all kinds of students, from those with a strong background and those with none. Those from an underprivileged background, and those with strong support from their family and friends. What all of these students have in common is their willingness to learn. I always stress that their success is up to the students, and their destiny is in their hands! It is always possible, no matter what.
I think it is important to consider your perceived relationship with them. Expertise is definitely important, but what is important is also the ability to connect with you. Tutoring is more than getting good grades, it is also to have a deeper understanding of the material and be a better person overall!

A great tutor!
Dienta is a really great and friendly tutor, I definitely recommend her! She was always available to help me study before huge exams and explained difficult concepts in ways I could understand.
One of the most patient and determined tutors. Dienta is well equipped and knowledgeable on the topics she tutors and has happened to be more helpful than the actual professors! Would definitely recommend.
Dienta helped me with gen chem and did an amazing job. She had a great understanding of every concept we reviewed and helped me understand them too. She even answered my late night/last minute texts while studying for exams!!
Dienta tutored me in Chemistry and was super helpful. Chemistry is a challenging class, but she helped me work through it. She is very good at explaining things step by step. I really benefited from the way she explained what she was doing and why she was doing them while working out certain problems. She is super patient and really listens to your questions so she is able to answer exactly what you’re asking. She is very good at understanding your confusion and helping you work through them. I really understood the material I was learning when I worked with her. I did not feel as if I was just memorizing things, but instead actually grasping the concepts.
Dienta was a Learning Assistant for my Chem 210 and Chem 212 classes and I probably could not have done very well without her help. She has a very strong foundation in chemistry and has great teaching skills (better than my professors). Her explanations are very clear and she shows great strategies to approach the problems. I will most definitely use her as a resource for my BMB 401 and 402 classes this upcoming year.
Dienta was one of the best, if not the best tutor I’ve had during my time at Penn State. She not only helped me a great deal with chemistry but also made learning chemistry incredibly fun which was something I hadn’t previously experienced with any other tutor.
Tutor Dash helped me improve my grade in organic chemistry. My tutor was very patient while helping and was very good at communicating complex ideas. My tutor was friendly yet very professional. If you need help in improving your grades, I would recommend this service.
Dienta was awesome! She was my tutor for 2 different chemistry classes and was always super helpful. She is available and willing to answer questions outside of your normal tutoring appointments!
