About Evelyn
Hello! I am Evelyn Delcid, I am a graduating Texas State student with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I am an undergrad researcher with an interest in retinal eye development , and teach general chemistry labs as well. Additionally I am first generation student who is fluent in spanish, and am comfortable tutoring in both languages.
Outside of teaching college concepts, I have tutored middle and high school students, with a focus on AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and Algebra. Due to my academic career and research I also have additional knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and quantitative analysis.
My tutoring method focuses on application in varying scenarios, and have a love for the learning process. I believe grades should reflect your understanding instead of your ability to memorize. Learning something new can be frustrating, especially under pressure. That is why I focus on providing tutoring sessions that aren't a repeat of what initially wasn't sticking by asking what the student confidently knows and building a foundation from there . I like to provide a learning environment that is fun yet inspiring, because learning is a skill that one can also learn.
