About Kannan

I got started in teaching after being a TA for an undergraduate course at Queens College and I really enjoy the time I spent helping those develop their skillsets.

I'm currently in my final year of my Biology master's program at NYU and I work in a lab as a technician so I have lab and in-class experience dealing with the sciences.

About the lesson

First, I ask them what do they find difficult with their subject, and why they believe it is difficult.

Second, I ask them how do they study?

Third, I look for methods that would work best.

Fourth, create a gameplan and test it out, and if it doesn't work, we revise and try again a different method.

I have mainly work with College students, but I did spend a year during my high school years tutoring children from 6th grade to 8th grade.

I would look for a teacher who doesn't lecture you, but someone who introduces a few concepts and then provides problems to work on together.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Is this something that I can learn on my own or do I require some assistance with learning this material?

Is there material that I understand but have trouble remembering the material?

What aspect of this material is difficult to understand, instead of " can you help with all of this"?
