About Kesha

I can make science make sense! I am a patient and experienced Chemistry, Physics, and Biology (Standard, Honors, and AP) teacher since 2002. I currently teach undergraduate Biology and Chemistry while tutoring math and science online.

I fell in love with science with a fabulous teacher in high school. And through tutoring science and math while in college, I realized that I have a knack for making confusing concepts make sense! Although I enjoyed working in the Biotech world with my B.S. in Biochemistry, I followed my first passion for the classroom – best decision ever! After years in the classroom, I realized that I also had a knack for writing lessons and developing curriculum. I now work full-time with students individually to meet their needs as well as develop curriculum that supports all learners.

I began tutoring math and science while in college. I fell in love with teaching and science. After working in Research and Development, I followed my desire to teach in 2002. I teach science to high school students and early college.

I'm a certified science teacher and have over 18 years of experience teaching secondary science, including Biology/AP Biology, Chemistry/AP Chemistry, and Physics. In addition, I’ve tutored science at the high school and college levels for over 20 years. I also teach online undergraduate science and graduate-level science education and research courses.

I hold a B.S. in Biochemistry and worked in the BioTech Industry before teaching. I then pursued an M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education and a Ph.D. in Education to learn more strategies to engage my students.

About the lesson

During our first session, I will focus on getting to know your interests, evaluating current strengths and needs, and using this to develop a personalized plan for support. I believe the best way to learn is to interact with the content. We will use the whiteboard to diagram and practice problems, share documents for annotation, and use video clips and simulations to illustrate complex abstract concepts.

Doc is an amazing Chemistry teacher! My child understood every concept she didn't get in class at the end of every session. Doc is patient and kind and even helped my daughter with her study habits. We are working with her next year for Physics. I wish we had found her in 9th grade for Biology!

I failed the second semester of chem and had to recover the credit online over the summer to graduate. I would have failed it weren’t for Doc. I understood more in a few sessions with her than I did all year with my teacher! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Dr. William's depth of knowledge and awareness of articulation in science curriculum is astounding. She provided specialized instruction for my 10th grader son struggling in the AICE program. Her unique ability to scaffold science concepts was a critical component in my son's academic success. We are truly grateful for her guidance!

Very professional, patient, and responsive. Not only did Kelly's grade increase but she was able to explain why and how to work the problems. We'll definitely continue to work with her.
