About Jonathan

Instead of working in as many different fields as we can, we focus on a select number of disciplines that we have mastered so we can better help you understand these subjects. Our focus is on entomology, the study of insects, and biology, the study of living organisms.

Insects are an incredible group of organisms that have captured my curiosity since I was a kid. The best part of helping someone in this subject may not always be getting them to see insects as I do, but may be having them tell what that thing is before they squish it!

I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in entomology and have been working in that field for five years. This background provides an excellent perspective and knowledge base to help folks understand the concepts and nuances of entomology and biology.

About the lesson

My usual process involves getting to know the student, finding out what they are struggling with, how they learn, if they are interested in the subject, and then moving forward in a way that will most benefit them.

If you are looking to hire an expert entomologist, ask if they have an insect collection or if they had to do one for school. It will help gauge the depth of their education (and will help you see how excited they are about the subject). Also ask if they have their own net, a staple piece of equipment in any field pack.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions you might want to think through are:

-what specific areas or subjects do I need help in?

-how long of a session do I want?

-what type of learning works best for me? (ex: visual, verbal, hands-on, etc.)
