About Sagada

I started teaching because I was inspired by my past teachers. They taught me in a way that got me excited about physics and math, and I want other students to be able to enjoy it as well. I began helping my friends with homework, and then went on to tutoring other students. I've also noticed that a lot of teachers only teach these subjects in one way. This way might not make sense to every student, and I want to make sure no student gets left behind.

I am a physics major at Stanford University, where I've taught introductory physics classes. I'm also a math tutor at Mathnasium, a learning center for K-12 math that emphasizes intuition over memorization. Along with this, I also work for Matrix Tutors where I tutor in Chemistry and Writing.

About the lesson

I usually take some time to get to know the student and figure out their strengths and weaknesses, then I create a lesson plan that caters to them specifically.

I've worked with elementary school, middle, high school, and college students.

Look for someone who has prior teaching experience. It is one thing to know a subject, but teaching it is exponentially harder.

One of my students had a B+ in his calculus class and he was on the verge of getting an A-. He was about to submit college applications, so he really wanted to do well on an exam to bump up his grade. We studied together for awhile, and he ended up getting an A on the exam and getting his grade up to an A- for his college applications!
