ABOUT ME:

Hi there! I'm Nikki and I love studying foreign languages. I've studied three foreign languages so far. As I'm a language student myself, I'm aware of the usual struggles students face when learning a new language. Since I've managed to learn different approaches to overcome such challenges, I hope to share them with my students for a more effective learning experience. I have a bubbly personality which is why my classes tend to be lively as well.

I've experienced working in Japanese IT companies so I'm familiar with the terminologies commonly used in that field.

My passion is always for teaching though and that motivates me to do my best in helping every student that I study with. I enjoy teaching both children and adults.

I've been teaching for 12 years now. I've taught in academies, private tutoring setups, and even online classes. I've taught students of different nationalities as well.

I'm very flexible and have taught students from ages 5 to 80.

Since I consider every student to be unique, my lessons are catered to each one of them to be able to focus on improving their specific weaknesses while also maximizing on their strengths.

We can focus on any of the following areas depending on your priority:

- Speaking & Listening (Conversational, Pronunciation, Translation)

- Reading & Writing

- Vocabulary & Grammar

We can use books, or even do casual conversations! Let me know what you prefer.

I was a student myself, learning in different language schools and adapting to their methods. As of 2024, I've been teaching for 12 years through academies and private tutoring setups, both for face-to-face and online lessons. I've taught small scaled classes e.g. one-to-one setups, and even bigger ones e.g. group classes.

About the lesson

Since I consider every student to be unique, my lessons are catered to each one of them to be able to focus on improving their specific weaknesses while also maximizing on their strengths.

I've taught students of different nationalities, both children and adults, from ages 5 to 80.

As all teachers have their own personal teaching methods and approach, it is best for a student to know his/her learning preferences and style as well so that he/she can choose someone who can provide for their specific needs, and who could also help them learn better and faster while having fun in the journey of learning.

Every lesson with a student is a bliss for me, and I'm blessed to have students who makes teaching fun for me as well.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
(1) Specific goal in learning (example, wants to take the proficiency exam in the future, watch TV shows and movies without subtitles)

(2) Background in the language (example, knows all the basic characters of the language)

(3) Are reading skills a necessity for the student? Or would just having speaking and listening skills suffice?

(4) Are there any materials that you want to be used in specific? Or would they prefer it if the tutor provides them

She is great at challenging you and bringing out the best. Learning languages are difficult but she makes it fun and engaging. Still difficult but entertaining nonetheless. I never feel embarrassed and she is great at being patient with me especially when I have my brain farts and can’t remember what we just went over.
