My educational background includes a B.S. with Honors in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Alabama. I subsequently earned my M.D. and Ph.D. (biochemistry) from UAB and joined the faculty in the UAB School of Medicine. I love math, and I just really like to help students understand and enjoy their math courses the way I did in high school and college. I especially enjoy helping students who feel that they are "not good at math" to discover that they can understand it. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing online chess and playing the piano.
