About Diana

Current Bilingual Actor and award winning Live Stage Performer with many Spanish Commercial credits and a Bachelors in Visual and Performing Arts and Spanish Literature. I currently teach Spanish one on one using TPR, repetition and linguistics in a fun easy to follow structure . I am a teacher and an actor with the passion to share my knowledge and training to others. I have performed for live audiences for over 15 years. I have trained in Europe, Japan, Mexico and the United States. I am eager to help other performers grow and become better at the craft. I specialize in Spanish language. I can teach those who speak Spanish as a second language become fluent in Spanish and be confident to speak in front of an audience or for a Spanish audition. If you don't speak Spanish, that's ok! . I also teach Stage presence, confidence and physical movement for public speakers, dancers, actors or performers on all kinds!

I started directing community theater in San Diego. I worked with non-profit organizations, new and upcoming writers, public speakers and people of all fields who used basic acting techniques and principles to become more confident in front of an audience, or people in general. I received my T.A. and CBEST certification but decided to move to L.A to continue my career as a Visual and Performing Artists. In Los Angeles I trained in Groundlings, Margie Haber and most recently at James Franco's Studio 4. Former Master Classs and advanced Scene Study coach highly recommended me to reconsider teaching and coaching, specially in Spanish since it's my native Language. I started to trained at Studio 4 as an acting coach and I am begining my private lessons.

I have a B.A in Visual and Performing Arts with an emphasis in Dance and Theater. I also have a B.A. in Spanish Literature. I have trained in Los Angeles in Groundlings, Margie Haber, and James Franco's Acting and film school. I have performed with Pinups for Vets, The Dollface Dames, Frida Kahlo Theater and others for the past 5 years. I also trained Susuki method in Toga Japan with the SCOT company, comedia de'l arte in Italy with Marco Luli. I have over 15 commercials from local to National in both English and Spanish. I have perfomed in National television (TELEMUNDO) and received an outstanding performing award for the international production of La Victima by Luis Valdez.

About the lesson

Working with a new student is very exciting. Every student has different needs. The first step is to see where they stand, what their goal is, and how I can help. I have regular classes as well as private lessons/coaching for specific auditions or targets.

I have mostly worked with Latino actors who have never set a foot on the stage. After a couple of months of training, these students put up an entire theater production for 2 years in a row with over 5 different plays. Cecilia Stevez, one of my students, is now a writer, director and chair of Tierra Caliente's Ballet Folklorico and theater school in Escondido.

I would advise anyone who is looking to hire a teacher or join a school, to see their material. Go audit a class, watch a play produced by the school, watch a coach do a lesson or simply watch them work. More than looking for years of experience or credits, see if what they offer is what you need to make yourself better at what your goal is. If you watch me perform, direct or coach, you will see that I can provide value.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do your reseach. It will save you time and money. Before asking a question try answering it yourself. By that I mean go online, read books, ask around about the subject matter. After you have done that, don't hesitate to have a one on one conversation with your potential teacher/coach about where you been, where you stand, and where you want to go.

Diana is super energetic, smart and free spirited. Very knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend her for your begining stages of Spanish and for any actor level. I am not an actor, but I have presentations in english and hopefully spanish in the future. Diana gave me great tools that are very useful in front of an audience. Just the posture alone makes you look more confident and prepared! She put me on tape and I saw the difference. I never knew how walking into a room was so important!

Details

Invoices and pricing are made on an individual level. However, the assesment is free. The first class/lesson is usually only 25 dlls an hr max 3 hrs. Private coaching for auditions or a specific performandce are 50dlls and hr, or 150 for 2 hrs including an the audition tape, edited with slate ready to send to casting director/agent or 200 a month for a monologue or scene ready to perform for a live audience depending on the actors level, preparation and advancement (if not fluent in English or Spanish this may a couple to several months of training depending on the student's goal)
