About Amanda

I am actively involved in theatre and comedy in the Reno/Sparks area. I am an actor, director and comedian (Improv and Stand-Up). I want to help people of all ages to build their confidence on stage and in life. I have been nominated in three different categories for the Local Forte Award. I recently won for improv. I am the Vice President on the board of Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Company in Midtown Reno.

Acting and Comedy have always been theraputic for me and I love being able to give someone that same gift. Acting is fun and I love it. You sould love what you do!

I started directing local theatre first and discovered I loved working with actors. I'm also a substitute teacher for the Washoe County School District and really enjoy working with youth to find their voice and expand their skills.

I have been working in this business for nearly 15 years and studied at TMCC and UNR. I trained in improv with Emily Skyle-Golden for the past 7 years. I was a company member with the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 2016. I was a member of the improv troupe The Utility Players for 8 years. I've worked in stand-up comedy for the last 6 years, performing at Pioneer Underground with Reno-Tahoe Comedy.

About the lesson

I like to make sure we are a good fit and then I create lessons and training based on the individual.

I was asked to coach local paegant girls for the Miss Reno/Spark organization back in 2012. I worked with Miss Reno, Nasya Mancini prior to her win and coached her before her competition for Miss Nevada. I teach acting at Arts for All Nevada's camps for ages 6-13. I privately coach middle school and high school students. I have organized group classes for teens and adults to improve their monologue work and ausition skills.

Find someone you feel comfortable with. You are going to get pretty personal with them in the process of creating and performing, so if you don't feel at ease with the instructor then keep looking.

A few weeks ago I helped a Junior at Reno High School work on her video submission for an audition and had so much fun jumping up and down behind the camera to keep her energy up and helping her find those powerful moments in her pieces. It was a really fun session and we both had a blast...plus the audition was awesome!
