About Addie

I have coach students from 12-70 years old, have methods that are accessible to beginners and advanced actors, and a variety of ways to access the acting craft through a variety of approaches. I focus on voice, body, and mind in the acting process, but also give a foundation of text analysis and choosing suitable material. My student success rate is high. My high school clients have all been accepted into college programs of their choice and those auditioning around the community routinely gain at least a callback if not a role from our audition prep together.

Since 2010 I have worked in Kansas, New Jersey, Montana, California, Chicago, Louisiana, and now Virginia teaching and coaching theatre. I have

I love working with a variety of people at various stages of their artistic journey. It is a challenge to find perfect material for my clients and I love finding the pieces of the puzzle that make a good package for the individual student. I am really good at what I do, and I love that I have the opportunity to share my passion for this work to others who are equally excited about it. I have both my undergrad and master's degrees in acting and spend my life getting to practice art as a career, so it is a privilege to get to spread the things I've learned and love to others.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting from Missouri State University, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting from Louisiana State University, a teaching license from the Virginia Department of Education. I have taken professional development workshops for over 15 years to gain different aspects of my craft and am happy to share my CV with you if you would like to see more details of my credentials!

About the lesson

I start with a diagnostic meeting with all my new clients. I think it is important to chat about goals, backgrounds, and experience level before prescribing any first steps. If my students have a monologue in their repertoire, I usually ask to see what they have and do a 15 minute coaching sample on a familiar piece they've worked on before. If that feels like a good fit, we move forward into scheduling meetings per the client's time and frequency interest.
