About Ariel
I have devised my own warm-up and personal rehearsal technique based on my training and professional experience. I help students prepare for auditions and classes, analyze scripts and characters, hone in on what makes them unique that helps them express the ideas of the scene and create individual warm-ups and preparation to help them work on their own. I am a passionate practitioner of vocal and physical work with classical training at the Stratford Shakespeare School, a BFA in Acting from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio Professional Conservatory. I have been a professional film and theatre actor in New York and in regional theaters for several years, a teaching director all over the US, and an acting coach in NYC and CT. I am constantly surprised and inspired by my work both with students and independantly.
I started teaching with a company that travels to colleges to teach theatre workshops. I was a teaching assistant and did one-on-one coaching during both undergraduate and graduate school and discovered I had a talent and passion for helping actors with their work and decided to continue professionally.

We will discuss what you are working on including your goals for the monologue/scene/audition/personal growth, any pitfalls or concerns you've experienced so far and go through the context of the piece. Based on this, I devise a process of character analysis that includes in-depth work with me in class combined with a personal warm-up and preparation routine so that you can continue your work alone. If you are looking for more general tutoring, I will assign pieces based on your goals and interests.
I have worked with actors ages eight to adult on auditions, class-work, professional plays, scene prep for films, American accent work, vocal warm-up, physical acting, script analysis and character exploration.
I would advise anyone looking for an actign teacher to look for someone that you work well with - whatever that means for you. Everyone works differently and it's a process to find someone who pushes you and encourages you in the ways that work best. I tailor the content of our lessons to what you have in mind as your goals but with something as personal as acting, it is important that your persoanlities fascilitate the learning process as well.
A recent event I am fond of is helping a young woman promote herself on social media for her online business. She came to me with a script she had created for her ad, which we recorded, but on the spur of the moment, I asked her a string of interview questions and her natural and grounded responses were her favorite part of what we filmed. It was incredibly fulfilling to turn what felt like a chore into something fun and see ehr authentic self come through in the process. She used all the footage eventally.
