About Amanda

Lesson instruction is available for silver flute, recorder and piccolo. Instruction is offered with a Classical music foundation that includes music theory and history content. Amanda Kanter is also a skilled Irish flutist and often includes traditional music within lesson design.

Students are encouraged to become literate in reading music notation. Performance fluency is supported by ear training, daily practice schedules and ensemble opportunities with students of similar playing level. Annual recitals are presented each spring.

Studio lessons are taught in duet style which encourages independent ‘voice’ development. Group lessons of 2-4 students are possible to facilitate chamber ensemble experience and increased performance confidence.

Additional services are available including solo performance for events, flute repair and restoration.

About the lesson

1. Connect by phone, text, email.

2. Schedule a lesson at Celtic Rose Flute Studio in SE Portland.

3. Have a flute lesson! Discuss ongoing lessons schedule, specific study goals, enjoy flute study!

Susan

Amanda does an excellent job working with students of all levels. She has been giving flute lessons to our child for years. Initially she respectfully taught our child the basics of playing the flute and over the years has worked with them to improve their skills and prepare for auditions.
