About Terry

I teach acting scenes and monologues. I’m a working actor myself so I know the advantages and perils of the craft. Mostly adults. It’s a great class. Facebook: Marin Actos Workshop. Saturday mornings in Novato CA.

The most recurrent comment I hear about my teaching acting is that I "make actors feel safe." All the choices the actor makes are respected. Then, I make my suggestions to hopefully improve the scene or monologue. I've been there, so I understand how the actors feels, what motivates him or her. If there's an actor in you, I will find her/him. And I will bring it out for the world to see.

I did not major in acting. It was journalism for me. But I acted in many of our college productions. It was after college that my acting career took shape. I have appeared in numerous network TV appearances, been in some pretty good films and I do voices for animation and video games. You can check out my credentials at (concealed information)

About the lesson

If the actor is new to the craft, then we cover the basics. How to build a character. How to project the voice. How to find the 'meat' of the scene. Actling for the stage is somewhat different from acting for the camera. I'll give you a good definition of the difference and assign work that will enhance your acting skills, wheter on stage or in front of the camera.
