About Jami

Hi! I’m Jami Ornellas, founder and instructor at Nola Meisner Playhouse. I have been teaching piano, singing and acting for 20 years. I studied opera for four years with Susan Gundunas. I studied acting for four years with Christy English. I teach voice lessons and acting classes with the Meisner technique which is about being truthful in imaginary circumstances. I focus on the breath because it keeps the singer present and out of their head. I focus on emotional connection to the music and connection with the audience.

About the lesson

Acting lessons offered by Jami are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in New Orleans. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
