About Tepanga

The Golden Standard School of Acting was birthed from my passions for acting and helping children grow and reach their highest potential. This class is different from many others because the core of the isn't about acting but the student themselves. Through my years of experience I have learned that the best actor pull from real life experiences. So my classes focus a lot on how to channel happy experiences and find enough peace in the bad to be able to marry them together a bring a fictional characters to life.

What I enjoy most about what I do is the fact that I get to change the lives of so many kids for the better. The Golden Standard School of Acting is designed to feel like a second home, even if it is in your home. It is the time to escape from reality and become someone else while simultaneously learning more about yourself. To see a child come into their own person and become more confident is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

I am an International Thespians, 2 time state qualifer at Thespian Festival and 4 time All- Star Cast winner at UIL. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University. I also did a TV and Film summer intensive at the American Academy for Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles California. I recently trained with Tyler Perry Studios casting director, Rhavynn Drummer in Auditioning for Tv and Film. Apart from acting credentials I have worked with children for the past 8 years at various places including Broadway Bound Youth Musical Theatre, Jewish Community Center (Houston& Atlanta) and as a nanny.

About the lesson

When I first work with a student my main goal is to not only assess their level of skill but make the process fun so that they feel comfortable to show me their truest self. With that being said, a lot of the first day consist of various getting to know you, storytelling, and movement exercises.

I have worked with students of all ages, races, and ability. My specialty however, is working with kids between the ages of 5 and 12. Whether it be the shyest kid in the room or the child bursting with personality, I have learned in my years of experience how to meet my students where they are. You do not need experience to be apart of the Golden Standard family just passion to be better.

Know that though acting is rewarding, it is not easy so you have to have tough skin and be open to CONSTUCTIVE critisism. True acting requires a level of vulnerability and honesty that few people truely possess; but once you find it, the possiblities are endless. With that being said, if you aren't dedicated about being as open to the process as possible, you will be doing yourself a disservice.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
In order for me to give my students all the help that I can, it is important for them to know what they need from me. A major questions that will help them figure out is what is the end goal; do you want to become a star or are you just looking for a fun way to come out of your shell? You should also think about how much of yourself you are willing to commit to this experience because that will let me know how hard to push you. Another thing to think about is how you best recieve your messages, are you someone that needs a little tough love or do you only need a light push. Are you a learn from doing or a learn from seeing/ reading person. All of these things together will help me service you to my best potential.
