About Dean

At age seven, while living in Texas, Dean saw the movie "Star Wars" and from that moment on, he began pursuing a dream to be an actor.

In high school, Dean's acting passion and skills twice propelled him to victory in the state theater championships and once in the national theater championships.

After college, Dean moved to Florida where he landed his first paying job as an actor at Universal Studios. In addition to valuable skills learned there, Dean began to build his resume in industrials and television shows.

From Florida, Dean moved to Chicago where he was accepted into the prestigious improvisational school, Second City.

After several regional theater shows in Chicago, Dean moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to continue pursuing his acting career. While plying his trade here, Dean supplemented his income by doing what he does well, working with kids. In 2002, he put together a beloved stunt program for kids called Hollywood Extreme Adventures ( Now partnered with The Atlanta Workshop Players) and, as if the other jobs weren't enough, Dean became the Assistant Director and Producer for the national renowned "American Idol Camp".

Dean is proud of his hard work as an actor, which has paid off with prominent roles on television shows like: "Nashville", "The Goldbergs", "Scorpion", "Castle", " Scandal" and many more. He's also landed roles in big name feature films like "Next" with Nicolas Cage and "Eagle Eye" with Shia LaBeouf. He just wrapped a movie called "Edge of Fear" opposite Robert Patrick.

Of all his accomplishments, Dean takes the greatest pride in being the father of two and husband to his amazing wife, Starr.

I have always had a love for the arts. Theatre and TV has always been a passion of mine. To be able to explore multiple characters and bring an audience into that world, is absolutely priceless. Seeing actors young and old share the same passion and drive, pursuing that ever elusive dream, is inspiring. To capture someones imagination, if even for a brief moment, is an absolute joy.

I started at an overnight summer camp for boys and girls back in 2001. Pali Overnight Adventures in Lake Arrowhead, Ca is an overnight camp designed for every type of camper. Campers get to choose from several specialty's including acting and stunts. I founded both programs for camp and extended those programs in LA as well.

I have been an actor since age 7. I was awarded 40 theatre scholarships for colleges across the country. Attended Bowling Green State University where I was awarded the Eva Maria Saint Scholarship for Film/Theatre. Had the opportunity to train at The Second City and Chicago Improv in Chicago, Illinois. Been working in TV and film since 1996. I have several Guest Star, Recurring and Co-Star credits. Shows such as Scandal, The Goldbergs, NCIS-LA, Scorpion along with such films as Eagle Eye, Next and the Netflix movie, Edge Of Fear.

About the lesson

I find it beneficial to have a long conversation about the students wants and desires in acting and in life. Where are they in their training? What would they like in a teacher? What hobbies do they have that are not arts related? Support of family etc.

I have had the pleasure of working with 100's of students in the past. Many of whom who were not actors but wanted to explore the incredible world of TV/Film.

A student/teacher relationship is like a good marriage. You have to have a connection. There must be a level of like and trust for both the teacher and student. Always ask questions and make sure you vet your teacher. Most importantly, will you have fun while learning?

Both of my kids just recieved A honor roll honors. I could not be more proud.
