About John

I have been a working actor for the last 18 years.

I love interacting with people and helping them realize their potential. I respect the Craft very much and I am intrigued by anyone who approaches their work with the same enthusiasm that I do.

I've been a KEY students at various schools in which I studied. This entailed assisting students and functioning as a TA when the instructor(s) were not available.

I have also been used to coach classes for children and young adults and assist various friends and professional actors with their auditions.

Most notably, I was hired by Academy Award winning actor, Forest Whitaker, to serve as Mr. Whitaker's personal dialect coach on the feature film Catch .44.

About the lesson

Ongoing Study:

If you are interested in ongoing study, you will be required to complete a scene assessment.

You will need to prepare a 2 – 3 page scene from film or television. This can be something you have used for a previous audition. This assessment gives you an opportunity to get a feel for how I work and allows me to assess where you are in your artistic and creative process. This will ultimately help me determine your specific needs.

Audition Coaching:

The number one priority in auditioning is to be prepared, the second priority is to ensure that you book the room (and hopefully the job), by leaving a lasting impression. The best auditioners don't always get the job due to countless reasons that are entirely out of our control. So I make sure that you are fully prepared for what you CAN control. A wise man once told me that an audition is never about the role, it is about making the casting directors, producers and directors fans so that they’ll remember you and cast you in a future project that you’re perfect for.

I will help you make natural and intelligent choices that bring energy and life to your character. My students have booked numerous roles ranging from independent films to a network TV series regular.
