About Stephen

The Actor's Voice On Camera Workshop is a weekly, on-going training designed for actors of all levels of experience. I am a coach, a mentor, and facilitator. My workshop concentrates on acting for the camera - commercials, industrials, film and television. I also prepare actors for audition scenarios, how to find an agent, a professional headshot photographer etc. I am one of the few acting coaches who teaches teleprompter and ear prompter (I have over 20yrs professional on camera experience with both). The prospective actor should be able to commit to the workshop for a minimum of 3 months, since that's the amount of time it takes to see true progress in his/her on camera technique. In workshop, I record each actor's performance, upload to an unlisted YouTube channel and then send that link to each actor. The actor is then required to watch his/her own work dozens and dozens of times before responding to me with his/her observations - what they liked/disliked, how they would change it etc. This is the BEST way for the actor to make huge improvements in their work. The technique I use for film and television acting is LISTEN-FEEL-RESPOND, a common sense approach to acting created by my own acting coach, mentor and now coaching business partner, Paul Neal Rohrer, an acting coach of over 40yrs. As long as the actor is willing to put in the HARD WORK, the results come - it's that simple.

As a professional SAG-AFTRA actor myself, I know exactly what it takes in the audition room and on-set. I've been featured in more than 200 broadcast TV commercials and industrial videos (training films and the like) as well as being cast in the hit TV series BETTER CALL SAUL, as Kenneth Kazajian, in Season 4, Episode 10 "Winner". I was also cast in the EPIX series PERPETUAL GRACE as Scott Kenn but my scene in that episode was cut - it happens all the time and actors must get used to that. That's the BIZ.

I absolutely LOVE working with, coaching and mentoring actors from "zero experience to hearing about their first professional on camera job"! Other than acting and voiceovers, coaching is my only day/night job. I am 100% focused on coaching and my own acting career in both Colorado and New Mexico. I am available all day, everyday for advice/help.

About the lesson

The actor contacts me to set up a free, no obligation first visit or "audit" (first or third Tuesday of any month). After that visit, the actor takes however long to decide to join. He/She may join on the spot or the following week at a pro-rated tuition. Tuition is $150 per month, payable on the first Tuesday of each month. Pro-rated tuiton is availble on a case-by-case basis, but there is a fee for having that flexibility.
