About Gina

Teachers-to-Tutors has been providing tutoring services in Rockland, Bergen & Westchester Counties since 2005. We also teach test prep classes in Armonk & Scarsdale for AP exams, regents exams, and select SAT Subject Tests.

Teachers-To-Tutors is owned and operated by Gina Curran. Mrs.Curran holds permanent NYS certification in Biology, Chemistry, and General Science grades 7-12. She attended Penn State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences at University Park, Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SUNY Potsdam’s School of Education, and Long Island University’s School Administrator & Leadership Program. She taught Honors Biology (Bio A) and Regents Earth Science at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, NY until 2004 when she left to have her first child. Gina now has three daughters and has been tutoring and teaching review courses in and around Armonk ever since. Gina lives in Rockland and personally tutors students in her home office in Suffern in the following areas: Math sections of the SAT, Math Level 1 & 2 SAT Subject Tests, Math & Science Sections of the ACT, Biology E/M Subject Test, and Regents Biology.

The goal of Teachers-To-Tutors is to help students develop better organizational and study skills, improve their grades, raise their test scores, and reach their full potential by building their self-confidence. We believe that learning should be engaging, thought-provoking and most of all enjoyable!! Factors such as anxiety, stress, and disorganization can hinder effective learning – we will provide the support and guidance your child needs to reduce and eventually eliminate those barriers.

We work with students in elementary school through college. Tutoring is available in all core subjects— language arts, mathematics, science, history—as well as study skills, foreign languages, and standardized test prep. Private tutoring sessions may be scheduled in a student’s home or at a library. If we don’t have a tutor that meets your needs, we will use our extensive network of contacts to help you find someone.

Students achieve success when they set aside time each week to prepare and practice. Review courses help students structure their time, plan ahead, and feel prepared well in advance of the exam date. Students learn how to pace themselves, calm their nerves, and make use of the test strategies and tips we teach them. Many parents feel that with their oldest, they are often the last to know about which tests their child should take, which test prep services they should use, when to start preparing, etc. We are here to serve as a resource, to answer any and all questions you may have, and to help reduce the confusion and stress that often times accompanies state and standardized exams. There is a significant difference between the local, privately run tutoring services and the large-scale corporate chains.
