About Ed
• PC Technician was hands-on technical support to teachers and staff, as well as supporting special events and providing IT presence in special facilities. Supported Dell desktops and laptops, Apple iPads and iMacs, and Google Chromebooks. Many of the devices required physical repair, and the IT department performed hardware repairs in-house. Printer installation was automated, although local printers were installed manually. Technicians received daily assignments who independently self-directed scheduling of repair and assistance for service requests.
• Provided telephone technical support. Punctual, dependable, cordial, and resourceful in solving simple to complex issues with hardware and software. Thorough in documentation of interactions and authoring/editing knowledgebase articles for team reference. Coached, tutored, trained clients on issues using simple layman terms to avoid the confusion. Rapidly adjusted to requirements for Pfizer's ever changing hardware and software updates and network accesses, including VPN, and migration from Windows XP to Windows 8 (with XP overlay).
• Previous employment included repair, restore, and rebuild of desktop and laptop computers, install home networks with clients' equipment, install hardware and software for individuals and small businesses. Also taught computer/information technology to adults in trade school environment, and taught individuals on the use of their computers and networks.

As an experienced IT Support Specialist and Computer Technology Instructor, my main goal is to ensure that my students get a grasp on the concepts involved in resolving computer hardware and software issues. Since most hardware and software rely on the same basic principles, they are thus more confident in handling a multitude of common functions they will find in nearly all technology devices.
