About Joanne
Hello! My name is Joanne and I am an experienced English and Drama teacher from Northern Ireland with 28 years of secondary classroom experience. I hold Master’s degrees in both English Literature and Education and currently work as an English and Drama teacher across Key Stages 3 - 5 in a top Northern Ireland grammar school. I am a school Literacy Coordinator.
I am passionate about helping students develop confidence in their abilities and achieve their academic potential. Throughout my career I have worked with students of all abilities, from those who need extra support with literacy and essay writing to those aiming for the highest GCSE and A Level grades.
Whether you are preparing for examinations, improving your writing skills, studying English or English Literature, or working towards success in Drama, I look forward to helping you achieve your best.

I am an experienced English and Drama teacher with 28 years of classroom experience in a leading grammar school. My lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student, whether they are aiming for top grades, building confidence, improving literacy skills, or preparing for examinations.
I provide a supportive and encouraging environment where students can ask questions, develop their understanding, and learn effective strategies for success. Lessons are carefully planned and may include essay-writing skills, textual analysis, revision techniques, exam preparation, feedback on written work, and guidance on meeting assessment objectives.
I specialise in GCSE and A Level English Literature, English Language, Literacy Support, and WJEC A Level Drama. My aim is not only to improve grades but also to help students become more confident and independent learners.
