About Jennifer
I am an experienced Special Education Elementary Teacher with 7 years of experience helping students grow academically and build confidence in their abilities. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students with a wide range of learning needs and have learned the importance of meeting each student where they are.
I am patient, encouraging, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I understand that struggling with math can be frustrating, and my goal is to make learning feel manageable and achievable.
My experience in Special Education has given me extensive experience using accommodations, individualized strategies, and different teaching methods to help students understand challenging concepts. I have also had success helping students improve their math skills and state testing performance.

As a Special Education Elementary Teacher with 7 years of classroom experience, I believe that every student can be successful in math when they are taught in a way that works for them. I am very patient, understanding, and willing to adjust my teaching approach based on each student's individual needs, strengths, and learning style.
My experience in special education has given me extensive knowledge of accommodations, differentiated instruction, and breaking difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I know that students do not all learn the same way, so I take the time to figure out what helps each student understand and feel confident in their math abilities.
Each lesson will be personalized to the student's current skill level and goals. We may begin by reviewing previous material or checking for understanding of a specific skill. From there, I will explain the concept using clear, age-appropriate examples and work through problems with the student.
I like to gradually move students from working with me to working independently so they can build both their math skills and their confidence. I will provide additional explanations, examples, visuals, practice problems, or accommodations when needed. At the end of the lesson, we will review what was learned and identify anything that may need additional practice.
My experience as a Special Education teacher allows me to look beyond simply finding the correct answer. I focus on helping students understand why an answer is correct and developing strategies they can use independently.
I have had significant success helping students improve their math skills and state testing performance. I bring the same patience, individualized instruction, and problem-solving strategies that I use in my classroom to my tutoring sessions.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My goal is not only to help students improve in math, but also to help them become more confident learners.
I provide online math tutoring for Kindergarten through 6th grade students. I am especially comfortable working with students who benefit from additional support, individualized instruction, accommodations, or a different approach to learning math.
Whether a student needs help strengthening foundational math skills, understanding current classroom material, preparing for assessments, or building confidence, I will meet them at their current level and work with them toward their individual goals.
