About Vira

I have over 9 years of experience tutoring Spanish and hold a BSc in Mathematics with Actuarial Science. I specialize in helping heritage speakers reconnect with and strengthen their Spanish. Lessons emphasize formal grammar, academic writing, and vocabulary expansion beyond conversational use. I also focus on cultural understanding and regional language nuances. My teaching approach is sensitive to identity and encourages personal connection to the language. Students practice reading, writing, and speaking in meaningful and challenging contexts. Exercises are tailored to academic, professional, and personal goals. I provide strategies for accuracy, clarity, and expressive communication. Lessons include vocabulary enrichment, grammar drills, and cultural discussions. Heritage speakers are encouraged to explore the richness of their linguistic roots. Students learn to write coherent and sophisticated texts. I provide guidance for speaking confidently in formal and informal contexts. Exercises strengthen technical skills while fostering fluency. Lessons integrate grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students gain confidence and independence in their language use. Each session is interactive, engaging, and practical. I focus on both technical mastery and personal expression. My goal is to help heritage speakers embrace Spanish fully and confidently.

About the lesson

My teaching focuses on conversational Spanish for everyday and social situations. Lessons cover hobbies, leisure activities, sports, and planning outings. I work with Heritage Learners and Exam Takers, providing exercises designed for personalized learning. Students practice discussing their interests while building vocabulary, fluency, and confidence. I emphasize listening skills, pronunciation, and natural conversation. Exercises include role-playing, guided discussions, and interactive games. Students learn to ask questions, share opinions, and participate actively in dialogue. I provide guidance on culturally appropriate expressions and etiquette. Reading and writing exercises complement speaking practice. Students gain fluency and confidence in expressing themselves. Lessons encourage exploring personal hobbies and cultural experiences. Feedback is provided to refine grammar, pronunciation, and expression. Lessons balance practical communication skills with creativity and engagement. Students develop the ability to connect authentically with others. I encourage practice outside of class to strengthen skills. Each session is tailored to the student’s goals and interests. Lessons help learners communicate naturally and enjoyably in Spanish. My aim is to help students celebrate their passions through language.
