About Keely

I’m an experienced, qualified secondary English teacher currently teaching KS3 and GCSE English. I also lead literacy across my school and have previously worked as an Assistant Head of Year, which has given me experience supporting pupils both academically and pastorally.

I have particular expertise in WJEC English Language and Literature and a strong understanding of the skills students need to improve their performance in assessments.

I enjoy helping students who lack confidence in English or feel unsure about how to approach extended writing and analysis. My aim is to make difficult skills feel more manageable by explaining them clearly and giving students methods they can use independently.

As a practising classroom teacher, I understand the demands of the curriculum and the pressures students can feel around GCSE English. I want tutoring to give students the individual support that isn’t always possible in a busy classroom, while helping them make steady progress over time.

About the lesson

I am an experienced, qualified secondary English teacher offering online tuition for KS3 and GCSE students. My lessons are structured, supportive and tailored to the individual student, with a strong focus on building confidence, improving written responses and developing effective exam technique.

I specialise in GCSE English Language and English Literature, with particular expertise in WJEC specifications, while also supporting students following other UK exam boards. Lessons can focus on reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, creative and transactional writing, poetry, Shakespeare, set texts and exam preparation.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes and are adapted to the student’s current level and individual targets. I use clear modelling, guided practice, worked examples and targeted feedback to help students understand exactly how to improve their work.

My tuition is suitable for KS3 and KS4 students, including those who need additional support, those aiming to improve their GCSE grade, and students looking to develop greater confidence before assessments and examinations.
