About Tenia
I am certified in Social Emotional Learning. As a Speech major, I was awarded the Academic Achievement Award for my work in Debate and Dramatic Interpretation combined with my accomplishments in Speech and Communication. I have tutored thousands of children in 1-on-1 and group settings, using a careful and kind approach with each student. I realize that class environment helps determine one's willingness to participate, so I make classes safe, fun, and challenging by using topics my students love.

I help children find their voice through storytelling, public speaking, debate and even acting! These are all forms of self-expression, which can boost self-confidence, participation, and overall well-being!
I am certified in Social Emotional Learning. As a Speech major, I was awarded the Academic Achievement Award for my work in Debate and Dramatic Interpretation combined with my accomplishments in Speech and Communication. I have tutored thousands of children in 1-on-1 and group settings, using a careful and kind approach with each student. I realize that class environment helps determine one's willingness to participate, so I make classes safe, fun, and challenging by using topics my students love.
Aside from public speaking classes, I have created self-expression workshops in which students speak, write and move (dance, stretch, etc.) I’ve discovered that even the shyest students can't resist the opportunity to get their thoughts and feelings out! My goal is to give kids of ALL ages the chance to express themselves— to authentically show up. They are building invaluable life skills while thriving and finding joy. As a speech teacher and child advocate, there is no greater reward!
