Josh is a committed and compassionate teacher who brings both warmth and structure to his classroom.

I had the pleasure of working with Josh in a primary school setting. During this time, I worked closely alongside him in the classroom and had the opportunity to observe both the quality of his teaching and the strong, respectful relationships he builds with his students.

Josh is a warm-hearted, considerate, and attentive teacher. He has a natural ability to make children feel seen and valued, creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and confident to engage in their learning. He recognises each child’s individual strengths while thoughtfully identifying areas where they may need additional support. Importantly, he scaffolds learning in a way that is encouraging rather than discouraging, helping students build confidence alongside competence.

What I appreciate most about Josh is his commitment to ensuring that all students feel included while being appropriately challenged. He is patient, reflective, and responsive, and he consistently takes the time to check in with students both academically and emotionally. His calm and caring manner has a noticeable positive impact on classroom behaviour and student engagement.

One experience that stands out was working together to support students requiring additional learning and emotional support. Josh approached these situations with empathy and professionalism, collaborating effectively with support staff and adjusting his teaching strategies to ensure every child could succeed. Watching him build trust with students who initially struggled was a clear example of his dedication and skill as an educator.

I have no doubt that Josh will continue to positively impact the lives and learning of his students, and I recommend him highly.

We found josh on a local Facebook group for parents. Initially we were a bit worried about online tutoring, but josh had everything sorted out from the get go! He spoke to us frequently about our daughters progress, and since starting tutoring she has gotten so much more confident in her english and maths! We recommend him fully and plan to keep going with him until she finished school next year.

Josh originally was giving guitar lessons to me but mentioned he was a primary school teacher so we asked him to tutor our daughter once a week. She has always been good at maths but struggled with her english, which she was quite embarrassed about. Josh really took this into mind in his teaching and spent a long time building up her confidence in her reading and spelling. He often changed his lessons around to suit her, and always was happy to go through her homework or what she has been learning in school. An excellent teacher!

We found Josh on facebook a year ago when our son was finding english in school a bit tricky. He is quite a nervous child so we werent sure it was going to work with a new teacher, but Josh was so welcoming and friendly this was never a problem! He always encourages our son to never be embarrassed by any mistakes in his work and tells him they are the best way to learn. He's come a long way thanks to Josh. Wish I'd had him as a teacher when I was young!!
