About Emma
An enthusiastic, passionate, experienced Primary School Teacher and Tutor looking to inspire those who I teach.
I have a range of experience in the education sector, all of which has heightened my passion for teaching. I have experience working in both state and public schools, including directly supporting children through SATS, 7+ and 11+ examinations. I am a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE), specialising primarily in English and behaviour management. This role has allowed me to support other schools to initiate new schemes, improve their curriculum and boost the progress of the children within that school.
I have a strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum, highlighted in my work as a KS1 moderator. This role saw me working for the DfE to ensure that teachers had a good understanding of the statutory guidelines set out in the curriculum and supporting teachers to use this to ensure accurate data analysis.
I have worked both on the Senior Management Team and the Senior Leadership Team, which has given me the skills to communicate effectively with others; ensure progress of the children is closely monitored, and kept my knowledge of the education sector up to date. In addition to my classroom teacher role, I have also been English Co-ordinator, Maths co-ordinator, PE co-ordinator and Curriculum Co-ordinator. All of these roles I have thoroughly enjoyed, however, nothing compares to my teaching role and seeing the progress of the children I work with each day.
My Tutoring mantra is to spark a love of learning. Each of my sessions are underpinned with supporting your child with their growth mindset skills, allowing them to tackle problems with confidence and positivity. I am extremely positive and ensure the working environment is one the child feels comfortable and happy to be in.
I will always keep parents informed of areas of progress, next steps and will adapt in any way needed.
I have up to date safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS.

Emma is an enthusiastic and committed primary teacher with wide experience in teaching children the key skills in Reading, Writing and Maths, as well as the wider subjects of the primary curriculum. She is highly skilled in supporting and teaching children of all abilities and finding ways to move their learning on. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for support in education for their child.
Emma is an excellent primary school teacher able to tutor children aged 5 to 11 in core curriculum subjects. She has over six years of experience. Emma makes learning fun, interesting and accessible. She is very approachable, reliable and well organised. As head of a School Based Teacher Training course for primary school teachers, Emma was an excellent mentor to students training to become teachers. She was able to pass on lots of advice and techniques which she herself had mastered. I would not hesitate in recommending Emma as a tutor for any child of primary school aged, whatever their ability level or needs.
