About John

I’m an experienced Maths teacher and tutor who believes that confidence can make all the difference to a student’s progress. When you feel supported and understand what you are doing, you are far more likely to engage, persevere and achieve your potential. Because every learner is different, I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges and goals before tailoring lessons to suit them.

What makes my approach distinctive is my ability to make Maths feel clear, manageable and achievable. I break challenging topics into simple, logical steps, explain ideas in different ways and adapt my teaching until each concept makes sense. I create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their understanding without pressure. Alongside improving grades, I help students develop the independence, resilience and problem solving skills they need to succeed in Maths.

Supporting students through Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate Maths is particularly rewarding because I get to see their confidence and ability grow over time. Whether you needs help catching up, preparing for exams or reaching the next level, I provide patient, focused guidance and practical strategies tailored to your needs. My goal is for every student to recognise their own ability, approach challenges with confidence and discover that Maths is a subject they can genuinely succeed in.

I am a State Exams corrector and hold a Professional Diploma in Mathematics for Teaching from University of Limerick.
