About Gabriella
I grew up between the UK and Spain, so I experienced two very different school systems while growing up. I didn’t fall in love with Maths straight away, it only really clicked for me in Year 10, but once it did, it became the subject that shaped my future.
I love teaching because I genuinely love the subject itself, and being part of helping students develop a love for problem-solving is incredibly fulfilling. I enjoy working with people, and I often find that I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. I particularly enjoy breaking complex ideas down into simple steps, gradually removing the support, and then giving students the space to think creatively and explore problems in more depth.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly play golf and padel, go rock-climbing and running, and I’m always looking for opportunities to try new sports. I also love spending time with family and friends, especially over board games, which combine fun, logic and strategy. I try to bring that same enthusiasm, patience and curiosity into my lessons, so Maths feels clear, supportive and enjoyable.

I am a UK-qualified Maths teacher and currently work as Head of Mathematics at a British international school in Spain. I teach iGCSE and international A-Level and have experience preparing learners for both British and international exams. Before this, I taught GCSE and KS3 Maths in a large London secondary school, where I worked with mixed-ability classes as well as students who needed extra support.
Alongside my teaching, I am a Pearson Edexcel examiner for GCSE Mathematics and Further Pure Mathematics. This means I have a good understanding of how exam papers are marked and what examiners are really looking for, which helps me guide students more effectively in lessons and revision.
I try to make my lessons clear, supportive and focused on what each student actually needs. Some students want to push for top grades, while others need things slowed down and explained again, and I’m happy to work at whatever pace helps them most. My goal is always to help students feel more confident and independent in Maths.
I specialise in secondary and post-16 Mathematics, with experience teaching and examining across GCSE, iGCSE and International A-Level. I currently teach and prepare students for the Pearson Edexcel curriculum, and I am a Pearson examiner, so I am very familiar with how papers are structured and marked.
