About Katie
Hi, I'm Katie! I am an experienced international primary school teacher and currently work as a Grade 2 teacher and grade-level leader at an IB school in Abu Dhabi.
I have extensive experience teaching young learners across the primary years and supporting children with a wide range of abilities and learning needs. As a classroom teacher, I regularly assess children's reading, writing and math skills, identify gaps in understanding, and plan targeted learning experiences to help them make progress.
I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, successful and genuinely enjoy what they are doing. My teaching style is warm, encouraging and interactive, while still providing the structure and challenge children need to progress.
I am particularly passionate about early literacy, helping children develop confidence in reading and writing, and building strong mathematical foundations.
As a current classroom teacher, I understand both the academic expectations placed on primary-aged children and the importance of developing confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

I provide engaging, personalized online tutoring for primary-aged children in Grades 1–3, with a particular focus on reading, phonics, fluency, writing and foundational math skills.
Every child learns differently, so sessions are tailored to your child’s individual strengths, needs and current level. I use practical activities, games, visuals and targeted practice to keep young learners actively involved while building the skills they need to become confident, independent learners.
I can support children who need extra help to close gaps in their learning, reinforce concepts being taught at school, or provide additional challenge.

• Addition and subtraction
