About Samsonkubheka
I am a historian, researcher, and Assistant Lecturer at Nelson Mandela University with a strong passion for teaching, research, and academic development. I hold a Master’s degree in History and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and I have experience working with students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.
My work focuses on helping students develop critical thinking, analytical reading, academic writing, and confidence in engaging with complex ideas. As both a researcher and lecturer, I understand the challenges students face in school and university environments, and I aim to create lessons that are supportive, intellectually engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning needs.
I teach History, English, Geography, Philosophy, Sociology, and Political Science. My teaching approach combines academic excellence with patience, encouragement, and interactive learning. I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in discussions, questioning ideas, and connecting knowledge to real-life experiences and contemporary issues.
Students can expect a professional, respectful, and motivating learning environment where questions are encouraged and growth is prioritized. I assist with exam preparation, essay writing, research skills, source analysis, comprehension, and improving overall academic performance.

My lessons are designed to go beyond memorizing facts. I focus on helping students think critically, communicate confidently, and understand how ideas connect to real-world issues, history, politics, society, and everyday life. With a Master’s degree in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, I bring strong academic knowledge together with a patient, supportive, and engaging teaching style.
What makes my tutoring unique is that I adapt every lesson to the student’s learning style, pace, and goals. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Some students learn best through discussion, others through visual explanations, practice questions, summaries, debates, or structured notes. I use a combination of these methods to make lessons interactive, intellectually stimulating, and easy to follow.
I teach History, Political Science, English, Geography, Philosophy, and Sociology. My lessons are especially helpful for students who want to improve essay writing, critical thinking, source analysis, exam preparation, comprehension, argument construction, and academic confidence. I also help students develop study techniques and analytical skills that are useful across many subjects.
I am proficient in English and isiXhosa, and I can explain concepts in a clear and accessible way for students from different backgrounds and learning levels.
