About Gabe
I'm a passionate and highly experienced biology educator with a career spanning several decades. My journey in science began with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Master's degree, which laid the foundation for my deep understanding of the natural world.
My passion for teaching has led me to work with thousands of students, specialising in the Year 11 and 12 Biology curriculum. For the past decade, I've also had the privilege of working with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) as a subject matter expert, endorser, and confirmer. This hands-on experience means I have a unique insight into assessment requirements and the finer details of the curriculum.
While I have a broad expertise in all aspects of biology, I am a specialist in Ecology, a field I find endlessly fascinating. My teaching extends beyond high school, as I also enjoy tutoring university students up to their third year, helping them tackle more complex biological concepts.
I believe that every student, regardless of their background, can succeed in science. I have taught in some of the most diverse and multicultural schools across the state, and I am highly skilled at making complex ideas accessible and relatable to all learners, including those from ESL backgrounds. My approach is always to make learning tailored, engaging, and enjoyable.
