About Tjshana Rai

With a BSc and MSc in Genetics and currently completing my PGCE in Science at King’s College London, I am a passionate educator dedicated to making science accessible and engaging. My love for teaching stems from a deep enthusiasm for Biology and Chemistry and a strong belief in the power of education to inspire and empower students. I strive to create a supportive and structured learning environment, tailoring lessons to each student’s needs to help them grasp complex concepts, improve exam techniques, and gain confidence in their abilities. With experience working with students of varying abilities, I ensure that every lesson is engaging, interactive, and focused on achieving success. I am dedicated, patient, and committed to helping students reach their full potential. My goal is not just to help them pass exams but to foster a genuine understanding and appreciation of science. About the lesson

I focus on building understanding, confidence, and exam success by tailoring lessons to each student’s needs. My teaching approach is interactive and engaging, using real-life examples, visual aids, and practice questions to simplify complex concepts. I emphasise active recall and exam techniques, ensuring students can apply their knowledge effectively. Lesson Structure & Methodology: - Explain key concepts in an easy-to-understand way - Apply learning through discussions and worked examples - Practise with past paper questions and problem-solving exercises - Review progress regularly with feedback and tailored guidance Lesson Length: - Standard sessions: 1 hour - Intensive revision: 1.5–2 hours (optional) Qualifications & Experience: - BSc & MSc in Genetics - PGCE in Science (King’s College London, in progress) - Experience tutoring GCSE students in Biology & Chemistry - Teaching experience in classrooms, adapting to different learning styles** Who the Lessons Are For? - GCSE students (ages 14–16) - Suitable for **all ability levels, from those needing extra support to high achievers aiming for top grades I create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing a deeper understanding of the subject.
