About Rosie
I am an experienced music teacher with a BMus degree in Music and around ten years of teaching experience across classroom, instrumental, vocal and academic music.
I currently teach curriculum music at secondary level and have supported students studying GCSE and A-level Music with Eduqas, Edexcel and AQA. I also have extensive experience teaching music theory and preparing pupils for practical and theory examinations.
Before becoming a teacher, I performed professionally in the Royal Marines Band Service. I continue to perform at concerts, weddings and other events, and hold performance diplomas in oboe, violin and singing.
Alongside academic music, I teach oboe, singing, violin and piano. My experience as a performer helps me explain musical ideas in a practical way and show students how theory, listening, composition and performance connect.
My teaching style is patient, supportive and well structured, while still allowing lessons to feel relaxed and enjoyable. I adapt my teaching to each student and aim to help them feel confident, capable and motivated.
I hold an enhanced DBS and have experience working with pupils of a wide range of ages and abilities.

I offer friendly, structured online tuition for GCSE Music students who would like extra support with the academic side of the course.
Lessons can focus on:
• Music theory and notation
• Listening and unfamiliar music questions
• Musical vocabulary and exam technique
• Set works and areas of study
• Composition planning and development
• Building confidence before mocks and exams
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student. I can help pupils who are struggling with a particular topic, those who need regular weekly support, or confident musicians who find the written side of GCSE Music more difficult.
I have experience supporting students studying Eduqas, Edexcel and AQA GCSE Music, as well as A-level Music and music theory.

My teaching style is patient and structured, but lessons are always friendly and encouraging. I aim to explain difficult ideas clearly and help students feel more confident rather than overwhelmed.
