About Tierna

I’m 23 years old and currently living in Liverpool, where I enjoy spending time with friends and socialising in the city’s vibrant and diverse community. My passion for teaching comes from a deep-rooted desire to make a positive difference in young people’s lives — particularly those who may not have had the easiest start. I’m especially drawn to creating supportive, inclusive environments where every student feels valued and understood. Teaching gives me the opportunity to combine creativity, compassion, and structure to help learners grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.

About the lesson

My lessons are thoughtfully designed to be inclusive, nurturing, and engaging, shaped by my Early Years specialism and enriched by years of experience working with students with SEND. Currently teaching in an independent PRU for secondary-aged learners, I bring a trauma-informed, flexible approach that supports both emotional wellbeing and academic progress. I have extensive experience in delivering 1:1 tutoring and personalised interventions, tailoring each session to meet individual learning styles, sensory needs, and behavioural support strategies. My lessons are structured around clear routines, hands-on activities, and scaffolded learning, helping students build confidence, resilience, and a genuine love of learning. Whether working with groups or individuals, I create a safe, supportive environment where students are empowered to succeed — academically, socially, and emotionally.
