About Jody
I hold undergraduate and master's degrees in education and am working on my certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I also assist in an ESL class sponsored by a local immigrant center. I have tutored for over two years and have taught in classrooms and museums. I look forward to meeting you.

I like to get to know my ESL students as people first and then plan my lessons around their interests as well as required materials. Why not make learning fun and personal? A typical lesson might include a quick review of material covered in the last session followed by new material taught using conversation, games, videos, and listening and written exercises.
I aim to help my students to effectively navigate English language and culture. I enjoy getting to know people from different cultures and welcome the opportunity to learn from them. As a volunteer with organizations that assist immigrants, I also understand that transitioning to life in the United States is not easy.
I generally teach adults but am open to teaching children as well.
