About Sharon
What a pleasure to have you here! My name is Sharon, an English tutor passionate about helping students of all ages and backgrounds further their knowledge of English on their path to language mastery. Let me tell you a little more about myself:
Educational Background -
I hold degrees in both Psychology and Sociology from Clovis Community College, and attended Fresno Pacific University for two additional years with the goal of furthering both degrees. With the onset of the pandemic my educational journey was forced to be placed on pause, but it has allowed me to further my love for writing, the English language, and literature!
Professional Experience -
Throughout my academic career I have tutored friends, colleagues, and peers on their English comprehension. Whether this meant proofreading academic papers, improving the clarity and cohesion of writing, improving reading comprehension, or simply just giving feedback, I am your lady! Recently, I found a love for travel which has allowed me to bring my love for the English language around the world! In addition to tutoring on an academic level, I have also been helping non-native English speakers to learn the language for two years.
Teaching Philosophy -
I believe in a student-centered approach, where tailoring my lessons to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student is paramount. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can feel comfortable and confident to take the next steps on their English journey!

Personal Interests -
When I am not tutoring you can find me engaging in one of my numerous hobbies. These include writing poetry, creative writing, playing guitar, rock climbing, road-tripping, yoga, and photography!
You may be thinking this is overly ambitious, but I take this passion into every lesson I teach! My commitment to excellence for sharing the beauty, diversity, and knowledge of the English language drives me to help each of my students reach their full potential.
