About Emily
I graduated from Durham University with first-class honours and a prize for the best work on Restoration and eighteenth-century literature in my cohort in 2016. I then completed my Master's degree in English Literature at Oxford University in 2017. Since graduation, I have worked for some of the UK's most prestigious publishers (including Bloomsbury, Macmillan and HarperCollins) on educational resources for schools and universities. This includes liaising with exam boards to form a deep understanding of mark schemes and specification requirements.

'I learnt more with this young lady than I did during my two years at English A-Level. Words are unable to describe how thankful I am for her help!' - EB, previous student I am an experienced personal tutor of English Literature at GCSE, A-Level and even university level. I am also happy to help out with creative writing and university admissions for English Literature. I have been tutoring since 2015 and all my tutees have achieved fantastic final grades. One tutee even achieved the first A* in the history of his school for his A-Level, having previously been predicted a C. It's really important to me that your lessons are tailored to suit your unique goals and concerns. I pride myself on my friendly and encouraging approach and am always willing to adapt to students' needs. My lessons are an hour each as standard but I offer a free, 15 minute discovery call before your first booking to ensure we're a good fit. Please do get in touch today to see how we can work together to achieve your goals!
