About Lamorna
My aim is to fill in the gaps in my pupils' learning to help them understand the concepts they encounter in their lessons - I like to know what they are learning in school so I can change their learning to fit. I love to tutor on a 121 basis as it allows me to work with children in a different context and get to know them as a learner and their strengths and weaknesses. I encourage children to learn the way they want to learn, using their interests to keep them engaged.

I am a qualified teacher, specialising in KS2 and KS3 education (Junior age 7-11 and Secondary age 11-14). My specialist subjects are English and Maths. I was a classroom teacher and have been tutoring for over 10 years. I am available to work with students on a full-time basis so am available during the day as well as evenings and weekends. My teaching experience varies from KS2 and KS3, across a range of curriculum subjects. I have previously taught in primary, secondary and middle schools. I cater for various styles of learners and love to make learning engaging and bring in real-life contexts to help children make real-world links to their learning.

Perfect! My son really enjoyed his first lesson with Lamorna. They created a good bond and her encouragement and tracing style was greatly appreciated. Hopefully the first of many sessions.

Lamorna is an excellent tutor and has encouraged my daughter to be a confident, independent learner. She is enthusiastic and makes my child feel at ease during her sessions, recapping anything that she feels unsure of.
I would definitely recommend her to people seeking a tutor.Lamorna is a wonderful teacher - fun, patient and encouraging! Our children love working with Lamorna in both English and Maths. We thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional tutor.
I have known Lamorna since our own school days and watched her grow into a confident and experienced teacher and tutor. She is warm and compassionate, dedicated and patient. It’s is no surprise to me that her pupils have shown so much improvement with Lamorna’s help, and she in turn has obvious pride in them.
Lamorna is an excellent tutor - fun, patient, and encouraging. She has really boosted my childrens’ confidence and they have made huge improvements as a result. Thank you Lamorna
